In today’s modest fashion scene, functionality is just as important as style. Women are no longer simply seeking beautiful pieces; they want designs that seamlessly fit into their everyday lives, whether they’re running errands, going to work, or attending festive gatherings. One versatile item gaining attention is the triangle shawl, which blends tradition with modern practicality. In Singapore, SEGI Tiga is making a name for itself by offering thoughtfully designed triangle shawls tailored for women who value ease, comfort, and individuality.

The Story Behind SEGI Tiga

Launched in June 2024, SEGI Tiga was inspired by a personal experience and a genuine need. The founder, who prefers to remain anonymous, began wearing the hijab in 2020. Like many others, she initially favored long shawls. However, as a new mother balancing an infant and work, she found long shawls to be time-consuming and impractical.

Her discovery of a triangle shawl from a local brand was a game changer—it provided comfort, ease, and a polished look without the extra effort. Noticing the limited options available in Singapore, particularly for triangle shawls without attached inners, she made the decision to launch her own brand.

SEGI Tiga focuses exclusively on offering longer, unattached triangle shawls that give women greater freedom in styling. The brand’s name, which means “triangle” in Malay, reflects both the product and its intention—to keep things simple, relatable, and rooted in local identity.

What Sets SEGI Tiga Apart

SEGI Tiga is more than just a modest wear label; it’s a homegrown brand that thoughtfully designs its products. Each shawl is crafted with comfort and versatility in mind. The slightly longer length provides additional coverage and allows for various styling options, while the absence of an attached inner allows wearers to choose their own inner layer or go without one. This important detail gives customers the freedom to express their personal style while ensuring practicality.

The brand distinguishes itself with vibrant, on-trend prints. Inspiration often comes from platforms like Pinterest, Etsy, and Gen Z fashion trends. Whether for Hari Raya or vacation season, the founder curates mood boards and collaborates with a designer from the supplier to create fresh, seasonal collections. Every print is designed to feel special yet remains wearable beyond a single occasion, making each piece a versatile wardrobe essential.

New Fabric Launch and Pop-Up Excitement at Twilight Fest

As SEGI Tiga approaches its one-year anniversary since launch, the brand is entering an exciting new phase. This April, it plans to introduce a new fabric—though specific details are still under wraps for now. This upcoming release aims to enhance the brand’s commitment to style, comfort, and functionality, while offering something fresh for loyal customers to enjoy.

Another significant milestone is on the horizon: SEGI Tiga will participate in Twilight Fest this June, marking its first and largest event to date. Known for launching new series during pop-up events, the team is preparing something special for this showcase. This event represents a major step forward and reflects the brand’s growth. With strong community support and a clear mission, SEGI Tiga is quickly becoming a favorite among modest wearers in Singapore and beyond.
